FROM AMBITION TO A PLAN

A route for every pilot.

Starting points differ.
Careful planning remains essential.

ROUTE 01 / PRIVATE PILOT

Start with FAA certification

Explore a US private pilot certificate based on your foreign license under § 61.75.

  • Foreign license verification
  • Documentation and English
  • Review of applicable ratings

A private pilot certificate is not a qualification for employment as a paid pilot.

ROUTE 03 / BUSINESS AVIATION

Prepare your next cockpit step

Align your plan with the aircraft, role and US operator requirements.

  • Aircraft ratings and experience
  • Professional history organization
  • Operator requirements

Type ratings and operational requirements depend on the intended activity.

HOW THE JOURNEY TAKES SHAPE

01

Understand your profile

License, ratings, flight hours, English and goals.

02

Define your route

Identify requirements and documents for your intended qualification.

03

Prepare your qualification

Plan steps with a school, examiner or appropriate authority.

04

Explore opportunities

Compare your profile with hiring and work authorization requirements.

LOOK BEYOND CERTIFICATION

A credential can
open doors.
A career needs
a complete plan.

Future US employment is a possibility to assess against your profile, available vacancies and each employer’s requirements.

01

FAA qualification

The appropriate certificate and ratings for the activity and aircraft.

02

Authorization to work

Aviation certification does not grant a visa, residency or work authorization. Your immigration status must permit the intended activity.

03

Employer selection

Experience, English, training and operator criteria are assessed independently.

No employment, examination success, visa or residency is guaranteed. Each stage has its own requirements and decision-makers.

BEFORE TAKEOFF

Frequently asked questions.

Is my Brazilian license automatically valid in the USA?

There is no automatic equivalence for all privileges. Section 61.75 offers a route to a private certificate based on a foreign license, subject to requirements and authenticity verification. Commercial and ATP goals need separate assessment.

Can I work with a US private pilot certificate?

A private certificate is not the route to employment as a paid pilot. The activity may require a Commercial or ATP certificate, ratings and additional requirements, as well as immigration authorization to work.

Does the consulting service guarantee a US job?

No. Consulting helps organize your plan. Hiring depends on actual vacancies, employer selection, experience and work authorization.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

Time and cost vary with your license, documents, training and goals. Professional fees, charges, examinations, school, travel and accommodation should be itemized in an individual proposal.

Is the firm a flight school or an FAA representative?

No. Fonseca Iannini Advocacia provides consulting. Certification, training and immigration decisions belong to the competent authorities and professionals. No institutional affiliation with the FAA is claimed.
